Short Week
This last week was very short, but it was mainly because of the crazy b-week we had. When I did get to go to my internship, the appreciated having me there because one of their staff members were sick and they love extra hands. During this time we had multiple surgeries one of which was a bunny spay. While a surgery is being done I often help by monitoring the patient. Monitoring the patient involves taking temperatures, listening and calculating heart rates, counting respiratory rates, and so much more. The little bunny spay was adorable, but I completely forgot to take a picture of her. This surgery is not very popular because owners usually don't spay their female bunnies it's just more common to neuter the males. The spay surgery can be very risky for bunnies because there heart rates can plummet very quickly. The technician that monitors this surgery has to listening to the heart rate the whole time.
