Cruciate
From time to time other doctors come in to do special surgeries on our patients. This is because they have special tools to do certain surgeries that we do not have. Today for example Dr. Owens performed a knee surgery on a yorkie mix. We knew that surgery was needed, but until he got a good look inside he couldn't be sure what it was. His findings were that the doggy had torn or ruptured its cruciate ligament. This ligament is extremely similar to a humans version of an ACL tear. I really enjoyed watching this surgery for the first time.
